About Lea
Self taught photographer located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, making memories last forever. Lea Houston is a Senior Broadcast Journalism Major attending the ONLY HBCU in Oklahoma, Langston University. She has worked with Public Relations with the Student Government Association and Student Activities Board since 2017 and served as 2019-2020 SAB Public Relation Chair, taking control of all social media platforms for SAB. Lea has also been a staff writer for the Langston University Gazette since 2018 and is known for her photographs and stories published in the newspaper and social media. Willing to learn more and do more to enhance her photography, Lea has now expanded her photography with Lhphotos, allowing her to capture forever moments on and off campus.

The LU Gazette is a student-based, bi-weekly newspaper at Langston University that provides a voice to the student body through printed material. Every other week, approximately 1500 copies.

Public Relations for Student Government Association
Spring 2017
The Student Government Association (SGA) is the voice of the student body at Langston University. The SGA is an organization of students elected by their peers, which advocates for the development and advancement of student interests both inside and outside of the university community. Members of the SGA are elected by the student body annually. Some of their responsibilities include supporting student initiatives, allocating student activity funds, and communicating student issues and opportunities to staff and faculty. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the legislative process in a hands-on environment.
Public Relations for Student Activities Board
Spring 2018-2019
The Student Activities Board (SAB) provides programs for the students of Langston University. The SAB is appointed after an application and interview process. This group plans and produces social, educational, entertainment, and health-related programs while helping SAB members gain experience in event planning, marketing, public relations, and leadership.
